He is undoubtedly one of the greatest authors of all times. Although known primarily for writing childrens book the level of sophistication and twists in his short stories remain unparalleled. No one can say that his stories are monotonous and his stories often reflect the mood and mindset of the british pilots during World War Two.

Here’s a guide to the best of the best Brit-lit listening gems. For authors who I perceive to already be big names in America — Ian MacEwan, Kazuo Ishiguro, Hilary.
