Achillea strawberry seduction

This selection has clusters of rich strawberry-red flowers, each with a tiny yellow eye. Attractive for cut and dried flower arrangements. Wonderful as a cut flower or in dried arrangements.


Flowers dry to shades of yellow. Excellent cut flower, dried or fresh. Compact plant, great for massing and borders.

Bloom Time: Early to midsummer. They make a great addition to a sunny bed and are of medium height. They produce strawberry red flowers with a yellow eye. Yarrow is one of the easiest perennials to grow and is a good choice for beginners.


Its relatively fine texture sets it apart from other garden plants with less refined foliage. This is a high maintenance plant that will require regular care and upkeep, and is best cleaned up in early spring before it resumes active growth for the season. Large clusters of flowers with foliage that is reliably robust and disease resistant, even in humid summers.


Fast-growers, this new series has introduced a prolonged bloom period (early summer to fall), good upright habit, and some very, well, seductive new bloom colors.

Delicate, fern-like foliage with flat terminal flower heads. Plants are drought tolerant and thrive in poor, dry soils. Fall pruning, especially in warmer climates, can result in a quick flush of new growth that prevents dormancy and makes winter freezes potentially deadly. Achillea Common Name: Yarrow.


This vigorous grower has lovely deep green foliage. It matures to an average height of foot to feet and an average width of foot to feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It will attract butterflies, but is deer and rabbit resistant. The blooms sport bright yellow eyes, and the flowers turn creamy yellow as they mature. The strong stems make them an excellent cut flower, and deadheading will result in a longer blooming season.


Deep green foliage is wonderfully vigorous. Very heat and humidity tolerant. It blooms starting in early summer and continues into the fall. It has a tall sturdy habit with fade-resistant flowers. A great choice for use in back borders and even in rock gardens or containers.

Makes an excellent cutflower. The Seduction Series of Yarrows were recently bred in the Netherlands. Grows best in average well-drained soil. Tolerates clay and sandy soil. This new Yarrow is known for its compact growth habit and long bloom time.


Care tips: For re-bloom, cut back to basal growth after flowers fade. Yarrows are staples of the perennial border, with gray-green lacy foliage and long lasting umbels. Strawberry red flowers appear between June and August. They grow well in full sun and in poorer soils. Good colours on sturdy plants.


Need some moisture but have good drought tolerance. The shorter stature and strong stems make a tidy mound. Long blooming, irresistible to butterflies.


Long-lasting flowers fade to a dusty rose color over the course of the season.
