The Boys Club in Hagerstown, M has evolved from when I attended the club. Today it is the Boys and Girls club in a different location in the city of Hagerstown. It is diverse in race and gender. Activities include boxing, fishing, and softball.
The Boys and Girls Club also provides excellent community service activities. In addition to after-school services, the Club provides before-school services at Mountainview and Ridgedale Elementary.
Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and influence. First and foremost, the safety, protection and well-being of the children we serve is our number one priority. While the Club’s Camp is affordable for most families, more than half of the participants cannot afford the cost. The purpose of this program is to provide a safe, quality place for our community’s high school students during the after-school hours. Last year, Clubs operating in West Virginia served over 15youth who need us most.
